Your first appointment
Nothing happens to you before somebody understands it
01
We listen
One of our practitioners listens closely to what is wrong and how it started, before anybody touches anything.
02
We examine
A physical examination follows, using advanced assessment techniques, so the diagnosis names the root cause rather than the symptom.
03
We plan the treatment
Once the cause is identified we recommend a course of treatment built around it, together with exercises to do at home between appointments.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing, and be ready to show the part of the body being treated. Both male and female physiotherapists are available if you would rather see one or the other.
Treatments
What the clinic does
Physiotherapy
A science-based profession that restores movement and function after injury, illness or disability. We look at you as a whole person, with the aim of returning you to everything you want to be doing. Treatment is paired with a rehabilitation plan of mobility and strengthening exercises for home.
Manual therapy and manipulation
Hand movements applied to mobilise joints and soft tissue: to relieve pain, improve motion, reduce swelling and induce relaxation. Spinal manipulation is a short-amplitude thrust, always carried out with the patient conscious.
Traction
Used here for 38 years on discs, sciatica, trapped nerves, chronic back and neck pain, and osteoarthritic necks and backs. Many patients stay on the clinic’s “M.O.T” list for regular sessions.
Sports massage
Your physiotherapist assesses the injury first, and refers on to a massage therapist where it is appropriate. The massage is then tailored to your sport, your activity level and the areas that hurt.
Acupuncture for pain relief
Dr Le Bas is trained in acupuncture and registered with the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. It is used as one part of a pain-relief plan, not on its own.
Rehabilitation and ergonomics
Electrotherapy, whiplash treatment, rehabilitation following surgery, and ergonomic advice for the desk, the car and the job that keeps provoking the problem.
The thing this clinic is known for
38 years of traction
Discs are like tyres with a slow leak that you cannot repair. You need to manipulate and grease up the joints, stretch at home, but every so often you need to pump up the tyres.
Traction has been part of the practice since it opened, for discs, sciatica, trapped nerves, chronic back and neck pain, and osteoarthritic wear and tear. Enough patients keep coming back for maintenance that the clinic gave the list a name: the M.O.T list.
“His clinic with the unique traction equipment has meant I am able to stabilise my condition and still have an active lifestyle.” – Amanda, professional sportswoman

Very well recommended and wish I found you years ago. Your staff made me feel like I was in a friend’s house and I could chat all day.
He has always been extremely knowledgeable about any condition I presented with, and has tailored the treatment appropriately and successfully where other places have previously mis-diagnosed. You also receive exercises specific to your condition which aid recovery. I do not go anywhere else for treatment.
As soon as you enter you are greeted with the warmest of welcomes. Ross assesses and treats you, carefully explaining everything.
